Who am I?
Kia ora, I'm Melody. I am an energy worker, writer, and artist.
I am also an academic and political analyst.
For a long time I struggled to understand how all of these parts of my practice fit together. My training with He Rongoā Māori has helped me to understand that these are all facets of one whole -- the spiritual, political, physical, and emotional are all connected.
By forging this unique path I have come into an understanding of my whole self and how to assist others.
I bring all of my background and training to our sessions, combining energy work, mirimiri, and reflexology, with visualizations, breath work, and creativity unblocking exercises for your specific situation.
What can I offer you?
My treatments are a combination of energy work, reiki, mirimiri, visualizations, aromatherapy, and breathwork.
Energy work is effective for a range of physical symptoms from nervous system disorders to tinnitus to insomnia to fertility. It can also assist on emotional and mental levels, support the grieving process, and help access and release traumas carried in the body to aid a sense of release, calm, and purposefulness.
Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.
Please note: a discount is available for under- or -unemployed.
My Training
I trained in He Rongoa Māori with Te Kopere O Raehina in Taranaki under the late kuia Olive Bullock. I also trained in Usui Reiki levels 1 and 2 and earth ascension Reiki with the “Reiki Godmothers” Manu del Prete and Aki Hirata Baker in Brooklyn, New York.
Since my first training at Te Kopere, I have worked in healing centres around the world including in the USA and Germany, and now in Porirua and Central Wellington.
I also hold an interdisciplinary PhD and an MFA in creative writing.
I bring all of this to bear on tailored sessions that respond to your unique circumstances.
